What Valletta Offers…
Valletta’s year as the European Capital of Culture has come and gone, yet, it will always remain a capital of culture. With the entire city inscribed as a UNESCO Heritage Site, culture vultures will not be disappointed.
Although it is one of Europe’s smallest capital cities, it is difficult to enjoy an in-depth visit of Valletta in a short time, as the attractions and activities that one can explore here are numerous and varied. In fact, many visitors are increasingly opting to make Valletta their base, not only due to its central location, but also based on the variety of accommodation options, such as luxury boutique hotels and self catering apartments, that the capital now offers.
Notwithstanding its impressive history, don’t imagine that Valletta remains as a relic of the past. The city has been reborn over the past few years, with new museums, restored golden-stone fortresses, new boutique hotels, bars and restaurants in converted 16th and 17th century palaces and other interesting spaces.
Behind the impressive fortifications and stories of a rich past, lies a living city that is vibrant, home to ground breaking contemporary architecture, delicious cuisine and a thriving nightlife scene.
